Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been out of the spotlight for a while, leaving the tabloids plenty of room to run stories that implied that their relationship was close to being over. But if the couple’s appearance at Cannes was any indication of the state of their relationship…things are pretty awesome. The couple walked the red carpet at Cannes for the premiere of Pitt’s new film “Inglourious Basterds,” and then partied past one in the morning, while exhibiting a whole lot of PDA. Doesn’t exactly seem like things are going all that poorly.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie hit up the movie’s after-party at Baoli Beach, where Pitt drank Bailey’s and Jolie drank vodka. (Weird. We would have thought it would be the other way around…actually, Angelina’s one hardcore chick.)

A source that observed the couple told People, “Towards the end of the evening they sat together, his hand on her leg.” Of course he did. Angelina Jolie wore a dress to the event with a jaw-dropping slit that basically revealed her entire right leg. Anyone in the position to touch Jolie’s leg would have definitely touched it. Brad Pitt just happens to be the only man entitled to do so.

The source added that at one point Brad Pitt wrapped his arms around Jolie and the couple laughed and whispered into each other’s ears.

When he wasn’t touching Angelina Jolie’s leg, Brad Pitt made the rounds at the party while Jolie remained in her seat and enjoyed strawberries and conversation with Eli Roth, who co-starred in “Inglourious Basterds.” At one point, Roth danced on the DJ stand, which Jolie and Pitt reportedly really enjoyed. We’re sure they did. When you spend most of your time locked up with your six kids, in some house in Long Island, any outside amusement you can get probably seems pretty great. (Of course, when they’re locked up, they’re still with each other…so we don’t feel all that bad for them.
